The history of Babaji

E-mail Print PDF

image-0Old Babaji, also called Munindra Baba, lived from 1800-1922 and helped the people with spiritual upliftment. Around the year 1800, he appeared to villagers not far from Hairakhan, a village at the foothills of the Himalya, out of a ball of light and, in 1922, before a handful of followers, he disappeared again into a ball of light. People flocked to him because they experienced him as a divine, wise, loving being far beyond the human level.

Mountain villagers (educated and uneducated) Westerners, English bureaucrats and soldiers, Indian intelligentsia, rich and poor and people from all religions came to him. There are still people in Hairakhan and elsewhere in India, who remember 'Old Hairakhan Baba', and experienced Him as the same universal Being.

youngYoung Babaji, called Bhole Baba, appeared from 1970 to 1984, also at Hairakhan, and constructed a temple complex with lodging facilities, and taught a few thousands of people from all over the world the principles of Karma Yoga. His mission was prepared by Mahendra Baba. Thanks to him we had the blessing of meeting Him and got a structure for the daily meditations in our temples worldwide.

According to a wise man Sri Muniraj, who was appointed by Bhole Baba to guide his students during His absence, Sri Babaji will again manifest in a few years. It is for this reason that we are now preparing the ashrams, so that many people can receive his blessings and teachings in the coming time. According to Babaji the world is on a threshold of tremendous transformation to bring a new time in which human and material values will go more hand in hand.

Please accept our invitation to work together.
