Muniraj was born in 1929 in Chiliyanoula area and he met Babaji in 1971.He immediately knew he had found his Guru when he met Babaji.Before, he had met several great masters and saints but here a deep Guru disciple relationship started immediately.
Shri Muniraj lived in Haldwani, a place at a few hours distance of Herakhan, where Babaji usually stayed at his ashram. Shri Muniraj was closely involved in all constructions made through the years in Herakhan by sending all the construction materials on horseback and later by truck.
Everybody who came to to visit Babaji in Herakhan went either through Shri Muniraj's house or shop and profited from his devotion to Babaji because of his organization for their trip to the Ashram.
Similarly all the food for the ashram which was not grown locally, all came through his shop, Hind traders at PatelChowk, as a service to Babaji, to all of us. This service started from day one and lasts until today.
Around the year 1978 Shri Muniraj together with Sadhu Baba ( Dr VVS Rao ) made a plan to build a big beautiful temple for Babaji in Chilianaula, Ranikhet. With the help and donations of many the Anand Puri Ashram was inaugurated in 1979.
On big functions Babaji often put Muniraj on an assan (seat) and told people to make pranaam (pay respect). He told several people that Muniraj was their guru. Munirajji felt visibly embarrassed in these occasions. In 1981 Babaji send Shri Muniraj with Sadhu Baba around the world to conduct several havan's and aarti's and connect Babaji's centres.
When Babaji went in Maha Samadi in 1984, most people looked to Shri Muniraj for guidance in how Shri Babaji's movement had to continue. Now 27 years later we can see that the size of Herakhan and the Anand Puri Ashram in Chilianaula have tripled and that also abroad many new beautiful ashrams and centers have come up in Babaji's name. Many hundreds of people came from all over the world and took spiritual guidance from Shri Muniraj who leads them humbly on the path to Shri Babaji's lotus feet. Particularly in his personal life and spiritual practice he has always been a shining example. Always increasing his part and never in any circumstances missing a day. This upholds the deep and solid connection he has with the Divine. Shri Muniraj Maharaj ki jai !
Since 1984 a standard question people asked to Muniraj was: "When will Babaji come back ?" Until recently he would give a standard answer " Where did He go , He is here" or "You can find HIM in your heart". A couple of years back Muniraj started to build a new kutir (little house) for Babaji in Chilianaula saying that we better get prepared for Babaji to come back. Then finally after 27 years the news came this year that Shri Babaji had re manifested.
Maybe it will take one or maybe more years but then the call, the email or the SMS will zip around the world that Shri Babaji is sitting on HIS assan (seat) in Herakhan again. Whenever and in which way this will be, it is most important that we establish our bond with Babaji in our heart, that we can communicate with HIM from the heart. This will intensify and beautify being with HIM in physical form also. But when this news will come many of you might think, when can I take the first plane to India. But, particularly in these confusing times where the known concepts of religion and governments are not providing a tranquil base in our life, it is most important to keep up the daily practice to establish the Divine in all aspects of our lives.
Shri Muniraj has to face many physical challenges in this life and as time is proceeding it has not become easier for him at the age of 82 but in his dedication to Babaji he is still surpassing us all. Look how he - in his present condition - is determined to go still on to Russia, maybe His last tour to a foreign country. Russia is a new country for Him and, as we have been able to witness, the number of devotees from that part of the world has been growing much. This tour of Muniraj is thus an important mission for Babaji. Hopefully you can join Him there on this mission so that we together in Babaji's name are able to (re) plant the seed of Sanatan Dharma in that part of the world.
Be inspired by this message of Shri Muniraj and stand with him in his effort to prepare our hearts & mind, our ashrams & centers, in a wonderful condition to receive Babaji. We should forget our doubts, and have faith, as Babaji said: " Everything depends on Faith. "
